About Two-Thirds Of Americans Believe Mass Shootings Aren’t Completely Preventable
Gun control activists continue to mislead the public that tougher gun laws and a ban on modern sporting rifles could prevent mass shootings.
However, various measures to stop these shootings, including the “assault weapons” ban that then-senator Joe Biden helped to enact failed spectacularly. Similarly, criminals continue to ignore various gun control laws to commit crimes.
Over the years, Americans have started noticing that measures proposed to stop mass shootings are futile.
According to a Rasmussen survey, 64% of American voters say it’s impossible to completely stop mass shootings like those in Boulder and Atlanta. Contrarily, 23% are completely sure that mass shootings are preventable.
Subsequently, fifty-one percent (51%) believe that stricter gun laws would not prevent mass shootings compared to 39% who believe the opposite.
More than three-quarters (77%) of democrats propose stricter gun laws as the solution, while 71 and 60% of Republicans and Independents oppose them.
Commenting on the Rasmussen Survey, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Chairman Alan Gottlieb noted that it wasn’t a surprise that the majority of voters had figured this out “better than Biden.”
“After Georgia and Colorado, fewer than one in four (23%) believe mass shootings can be completely prevented, and those voters must live in the same fantasy land as the president and his Congressional comrades.”
He added that President Biden and his fellow Democrats were out of touch with their voters.
If Joe Biden is not representing the opinion of most American voters, then whose interests is the Democratic leadership serving? Anti-gun politicians are bought and paid by special interest groups such as Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety, Giffords, and Brady’s. To these anti-gun groups, gun control is a political vehicle to influence public policy through their proxies in government.
A few days ago, the groups were furious because the Biden administration was slow in implementing gun control. A couple of months ago, the administration promised that the groups would play a “critical role” in his gun control strategy.
Thus, the groups continue to mislead Americans on gun policy to preserve their influence in the Biden administration. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the shootings, the groups insist that mass shootings are totally preventable and the only solution was more gun control.
"So much of this is preventable," Jane Dougherty of Littleton, a senior fellow with Everytown for Gun Safety, told CBS after the Boulder shooting. "It's so sad that we have to lose lives in order to motivate people and get our legislators back to talking about it."
It’s not surprising that gun control groups seek political power through the backdoor because most American voters have outgrown their lies.
