Bernie Sanders-Loophole Allows You to Walk In, Buy as Many Guns as You Want, and Sell Them to Gangs
Democratic Gun control got crazier with “Crazy” Bernie suggesting a solution to fix a gun ownership loophole that nobody else except him knew of its existence. Bernie was answering a question on how he would prevent a mass shooting like the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church shootings in 2015.
Right out of the Democratic Gun control playbook, Bernie regurgitated the usual suggestions of enacting universal background checks, sealing the “gun show loophole,” and banning the sale and ownership of “assault weapons.” However, Sanders went further and invented a new loophole that only he knew of its existence.
“We gotta end the so-called ‘strawman provision,’ which allows you to walk in, buy as many guns as you want, and then sell them to gangs and criminal elements,” He explained.
This was not the first time he has used the reference when addressing gun control. Sanders talked of sealing the same loophole after the New Hampshire debate but without the crazy definition.
“And my view is right now, we need universal background checks. We end the gun show loophole. We end the so-called strawman provision,” Sanders said.
Sanders had promised to go further in enforcing gun control apart from the usual suggestions. However, nobody expected him to invent a new loophole and then try to fix it. Maybe the only way a Democrat could outdo the others is by inventing as many fictitious gun loopholes and offer even worse solutions than the already failed ones being pushed by the other Democratic contenders.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices.
