Beto O'Rourke and Jill Biden In El Paso for Joe’s Campaign, Poll Suggests Trump Could Lose in Texas
Texas has become a battleground state, and Democrats hope to win the Lone Star State for Biden and flip the Senate and the State House. Jill Biden and Joe's Surrogate, Beto O'Rourke, made an official campaign stop in El Paso on Tuesday.
Biden also believes that there's a chance of turning Texas Blue in the November elections.
“For the first time in a long time, winning Texas is possible!” Jill said. “Not just for Joe, but for the Senate and the state House as well, and if we win here, we are unstoppable.”
According to a survey carried out by the University of Texas and the Texas Tribune, Biden still trails President Trump by a five-point. However, a predictive computer model by the FiveThirtyEight poll group suggests that Trump could lose in Texas.
Various gun control groups are pouring money with the hopes of switching the Lone Star State to the left. The Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety and the Forward Majority groups will spend about $8.2 million in Texas to bring Democrats back from the cold in over four decades.
Democrats need only nine more seats to control the Texas House. The Democrats highly target Dallas, Houston - Fort Worth areas. The Left hopes to win districts 26, 64, 66, 67, 92, 94, 96, 108, 112, 121, 134, and 138. Gary Gates is among politicians targeted by the Forward Majority group with a mudslinging campaign based on child abuse accusations.
Earlier this year, Biden indicated that the gun-grabber would have an extended role to play in his presidential campaign. Biden described the former El Paso Congressman as being "the best" and that he counted on him to solve the "gun problem."
“I want to make something clear, I’m going to guarantee you this is not the last you’ve seen of him,” Biden talked of O'Rourke in Dallas. “You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort.”
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
