Democratic presidential primaries contender Joe Biden called for more gun control in the fourth anniversary of Pulse Nightclub Shooting in Orlando, Florida. Biden tried to disguise the mass shooting incident as both a homophobic attack and gun violence. His intentions were to create a relationship between the incident and lawful gun ownership, and conservative values. This is despite the assailant being an Islamic terrorist who was not aware the club served the gay community.
"Our places of worship have been attacked, Hispanics have been targeted in places like El Paso, the death toll from mass shootings continues to mount, and LGBTQ+ people, particularly transgender women of color, are disproportionately targeted by violence," he said.
Omar Mateen, a 29-year-old self-proclaimed loyalist of the Islamic State (ISIS), murdered 49 people and injured 68 others at the Orlando nightclub on June 12, 2016. However, the mainstream media and the Democrats always leave out the motive of the shooting to divert Americans' attention from the real problems and create anti-gun sentiments.
Nancy Pelosi also marked the anniversary of the shootings by calling for the passing of gun control laws in the Senate.
"As we take time to remember those we've lost, we must never back away from our mission to safeguard our communities and end the horrors of gun violence once and for all," Pelosi said.
It doesn't make sense that disarming law-abiding Americans could prevent Islamic terrorism from attacking gay people or other Americans. Terrorists use knives, hijack planes, and drive cars through crowds. Additionally, regardless of the laws, terrorists would still obtain weapons illegally.
If the patrons in the clubs were armed, the terrorist would not manage to kill so many people as evident during the church shooting in Texas, where an armed congregant stopped a mass shooting within seconds.
It is hypocritical and shameful for Biden to claim that churches are targeted. He openly disapproved of the heroic action of the parishioner who stopped the church mass shooting. He also opposes the churches' efforts to arm themselves against mass shooters.
Biden and Democrats want churches to remain as sitting ducks, so there are more church mass shooting incidents to exploit in pushing their gun control agenda.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
