Biden Considering An Executive Action on "Ghost Guns"

Days after White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that Biden could use “every tool at our disposal, including executive actions” to force gun control, Politico reported that the incumbent was preparing an executive action on “ghost guns.”

According to the news outlet, the Biden administration was considering an executive action imposing mandatory background checks for DIY firearms makers.

Being able to make your guns at home for personal defense is an important provision of the second amendment. It prevents tyrants from disarming citizens by shutting down the firearm supply chain. Besides, banning homemade guns would not prevent criminals from making them.

Biden promised to limit access to homemade firearms if elected president by “passing legislation requiring that purchasers of gun kits or 3D printing code pass a federal background check.”

He also promised to reverse Trump’s rule allowing 3D firearm blueprints owners to make the technology accessible online.

“Additionally, Biden will ensure that the authority for firearms exports stays with the State Department, and if needed, reverse a proposed rule by President Trump," his campaign website reads. "This will ensure the State Department continues to block the code used to 3D print firearms from being made available on the Internet.”

Biden also depends on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to crack down on Americans’ right to make firearms at home. The bureau disclosed that homemade firearms would be a priority in the coming days.

The ATF already determined that selling an all-in-one kit like Polymer80’s “Buy, Build, Shoot” kit required background checks. It also reclassified TommyBuilt Tactical T36 as a machine-gun receiver, forcing owners to replace the receiver at an additional cost.

Twelve pro-gun control senators wrote to Biden urging him to appoint a permanent ATF director who would fast-track gun control, including the regulation of homemade firearms.
