Bloomberg’s Everytown For Gun Safety Plots to Oust Moderate Pro-Gun Democrats in New Mexico

Bloomberg’s gun control group, Everytown For Gun Safety, intends to remove five moderate Democrats in New Mexico in the party’s primary taking place next week. Gabriel Ramos of Silver City and Clemente Sanchez of Grants are among the group targeted by the radical gun control group for their votes in support of the Second Amendment during the last legislative session.

Everytown For Gun Safety will spend $50,000 on mailers to remind Democratic voters to replace the duo with liberals who can be depended on to vote blindly for gun control legislation. The letters will start trickling into mailboxes during this weekend. Many New Mexicans are critical of outside groups meddling in the politics of the state, especially in the rural areas.

Sanchez has consistently voiced his concerns on the application of the red flag laws that allow firearm confiscation without a due process. Sanchez said he stands by what he believes his mostly rural electorate stands for. He added that the negative mail campaign would have little success.

“I stand by my record because I know my district,” he told Albuquerque Journal.

We are Texalorians... Weapons are our religion.... This is the way, y'all... Show your Texalorian Pride with this kick ass shirt!

The list of Democrats facing the wrath of the gun control sugar daddy has been drawn from legislators with conflicting views on a host of issues ranging from education, marijuana, environment, to abortion.

Democratic legislators are expected to tow the party line regardless of the opinion of their voters. The same scene played out in Virginia when Democrats ganged up to pass gun control proposals despite almost all counties and cities opposing such laws.

Everytown spent $400,000 during the past elections including $11,000 towards Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham election. In return, Gov. Grisham supported various gun control proposals and signed the red flag laws and the expanded background checks legislation into law. Republican lawmakers led by House Republican Leader Jim Townsend of Artesia said they would circulate petitions to repeal the laws in a statewide vote.

Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
