A conservative mom who openly confronted Beto O'Ruorke won a Republican congressional primary in Colorado, deposing the five-term incumbent who had Trump's support. Lauren Boebert had confronted the failed Democratic presidential primaries contender during a Townhall event in Aurora, Colorado, regarding his "Hell, yes, we're going to take your AR-15, your AK-47" remarks.
"I am here to say: Hell, no, you're not," Boerbert told O'Ruorke. The remarks made her a sensational character in the fight against the violation of the Second Amendment rights.
The conservative mother of four said the freedom of her children was her motivator, and anybody who threatened the freedom of her boys would be held accountable.
"My husband and I are raising them to be strong men! I refuse to send my children into a socialist nation."
President Trump, who initially supported the incumbent five-term Rep. Scott Tipton, congratulated her on Twitter, terming her victory as a "really great win." She will be present during Trump's July 4 event in Mt. Rushmore.
Boebert said she would take the fight to the Democrats, and was excited to fulfill her promise to represent the 3rd Congressional District. She will face Democrat Diane Mitsch Bush, who lost to Rep. Tipton during the previous elections in 2018. Given the previous record, it is unlikely that Mitsch would defeat Boebert in the polls.
The conservative mom has consistently attacked Tipton, calling him a "back burner" who has failed to live up to his conservative values. Tipton congratulated her saying voters had decided on who should challenge Democrats during the elections.
"District Republicans have decided who they want to run against the Democrats this November,” Tipton statement read. “I want to congratulate Lauren Boebert and wish her and her supporters well.”
Boebert opposed the COVID-19 business restriction orders in May despite receiving the cease and desist warnings from Garfield County Health Department. She opened her Shooters Restaurant in Rifle, Colorado, where openly carrying customers were served by openly carrying employees.
"Small businesses everywhere deserve the chance to open up. We are the lifeblood of this nation's economy," she said.
Boebert is also an ardent supporter of the border wall to prevent illegal immigrants from crossing the border from Mexico.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
