“COVID-19 is Not the Only Crisis Facing the Texas”: Gun Control Money Starts Rolling In

Gun control groups have started spending money big money in Texas in the first round of ads with the message that COVID-19 is not the only health crisis facing the state and that Republicans have “ignored our safety.”

Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety had set aside $8 million to influence the electorate in Texas and turn the state into another anti-gun hovel like most democratic administered jurisdictions. The gun-control group has released its first $250,000 blood money for ads targeting Republicans-held areas in Houston area and central Texas.

The ads will target U.S. Rep. John Carter and former Irvin Mayor Beth Van Duyne, who is running for a congressional seat in Dallas. Reps. Chip Roy, Dan Crenshaw, and Michael McCaul will also be targeted by the ads.

We are Texalorians... Weapons are our religion.... This is the way, y'all... Show your Texalorian Pride with this kick ass shirt!

The gun control groups will apply the same tactics they used to retake Virginia after 26 years of persistent failure. The ads will accuse the Republicans of ignoring the safety of Texans. They will be displayed both online and on TV to garner the maximum impact, especially for the younger generations and more urban voters.

To avoid another takeover by the Democrats, the Republicans must defend at least 20 of the hotly contested seats.

In addition to the Bloomberg-sponsored groups, Brandy PAC plans to spend $500,000 in Texas. The gun-control group will inject money directly into campaigns to support all democrats across the state. The group has prioritized Texas and will spend more money in the Lone Star State than elsewhere in the country.

Brandy PAC, claims if it can force Texas to pass gun control laws, they can achieve the same results elsewhere in the country. The anti-gun group will spend $4 million across the country and has already backed Joe Biden for the presidential seat.

Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
