Federal agents shot dead a man believed to have killed a Trump supporter a few days ago in Portland, Oregon. Michael Reinoehl, 48, who described himself as “100% Antifa,” was the prime suspect in the murder of Aaron “Jay” Danielson, a 39-year old member of the Patriot Prayer group. Aaron was shot in the chest as Trump Supporters’ motorcade drove downtown Portland to an organized rally.
Speaking to the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity, a senior agent disclosed that Reinoehl was shot dead after pulling a gun on the arresting officers. The FBI agents, working with the U.S. Marshals Service on a federal fugitive task force, were executing an arrest warrant after locating his hideout on Thursday.
Reinoehl had declared that the counter-protests were an act of war and that “there will be casualties.” On July 5, Reinoehl was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm and resisting arrest. He was also charged with reckless endangerment after racing his 17-year old son on an interstate at 111 mph while under the influence of alcohol and with his daughter on board. He, however, skipped the court hearing.
On July 26, the habitual Black Lives Matter protester was shot on his elbow after getting involved in an altercation between a group of black youths and a white man. Colins had tried to film the group as they harassed an elderly black man before they turned on him. He pulled out a gun when a group of adults joined in the scuffles. Reinoehl was shot as he “pulled the gun away from people’s heads.”
Reinoehl, who had a tattoo of black power on his neck, claimed he had no choice in the murder of Aaron.
“I had no choice, I mean, I had a choice, I could have sat there and watched them kill a friend of mine of color, but I wasn’t gonna do that.”
Given his reckless behavior and obsession with violence, it was just a matter of time before his actions caught up with him.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
