Gun Control Groups Using COVID-19 Relief Money to Bankroll Politicians

Gun control groups are using relief money to buy political candidates, while many Americans continue to suffer from the economic hardships caused by COVID-19. The hypocritical anti-gun groups continue to receive relief money while still donating to political candidates, including the co-founders of the anti-gun groups running for political office.

The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence received between $350,000 to $1 million in relief money while donating $4 million for the 2020 elections to support candidates running on an anti-gun platform. Giffords Center received between $150,000-$350,000 while pledging to spend $1.25 million to support Colorado's former Democratic governor John Hickenlooper's campaign.

Some of the beneficiaries of the donations are the co-founders of the gun control groups such a Mark Kelly, who is a Democratic candidate for the US Senate in Arizona. His wife and co-founder, US Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, is also likely to benefit from the donations given by the anti-Second Amendment groups.

We are Texalorians... Weapons are our religion.... This is the way, y'all... Show your Texalorian Pride with this kick ass shirt!

Evidently, these gun control groups have enough money to keep their operations running. However, they would rather siphon public money to fund their operations while saving theirs for bankrolling political candidates, including themselves.

The spokesman of the Brady PAC, Liam Sullivan, told the Washington Free Beacon that they took the money because they applied and qualified. He doesn't hide the fact that they were not in dire need of the money.

"We just applied and were approved, obviously, under the same sort of criteria as others with concerns for payroll," Sullivan said.

The couple should be investigated because the whole setup reeks of corruption, dishonesty, and abuse of public trust. Many businesses have fired workers to cut on operational costs, while others postponed their development agendas to survive the crisis. However, gun control groups have no problem receiving money that they do not desperately need while still donating money for political reasons.

Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
