Joe Biden has declared war on the second amendment rights of citizens in his gun policy released on his website. Apart from his usual ban on “assault weapons” and background checks, Biden intends to encroach further on the Second Amendment rights of Americans through unrealistic, nonsensical, or redundant gun laws.
One of Biden’s promises is to end the online sale of firearms, gun parts, ammunition, or any firearm-related components. He hopes to achieve this by “enacting legislation” to accomplish this.
He also intends to end the manufacture of “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines by enacting yet another legislation.
Other plans for Biden include regulating the possession of existing “assault weapons” under the National Firearms Act. He will also implement a buy-back program to repossess AR-15 style weapons currently owned by Americans. It is unclear how Biden will fund this project or how he will convince criminals to hand in their weapons. Maybe he will ask them nicely, or maybe they will just obey the law out of their criminal goodwill.
Another unrealistic plan by Biden put the country on the path of smart weapons. He hopes to ensure all firearms in the market are smart weapons. According to Biden, gun rights groups and firearm manufacturers “are bullying firearms dealers who try to sell these guns.” Evidently, there have been manufacturers who tried the technology and failed in both safety and marketing, all on their own.
Biden also maintains his idea of holding gun manufacturers responsible for crimes committed using their firearms. This would make the manufacturers liable for crimes committed by third parties, which they have no idea about. This idea evades commonsense because the only way it would work is if no criminals existed, or no firearm was sold.
In 3000 words, Biden says he will either take your rights away, give criminals an upper hand, or create laws that evade commonsense.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
