Liberals Won't Accept That the Second Amendment Is Not Racist, but Gun Control Is

Liberal army of academics and journalists has been trying to disguise the racist origins of gun control and blaming racism on the Second Amendment. The Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Nikole Hannah-Jones said the second amendment was crafted to allow southern slave owners quell slave rebellions.

"This reference to the 2nd Amendment is a head scratcher only if you don't know that 2nd Amendment was in fact created to ensure Southern slaveowners the right to maintain & arm slave patrols to put down insurrections amongst the enslaved," she said. "Now he's invoking against their descendants."

Firstly, there was no evidence the Second Amendment was created for use against slaves. It intended to ensure Americans of any racial distinction had the means to confront a tyrannical government. For that reason, they were against the government machinery having exclusive privileges to keep arms. Even the earliest supporters of the constitutional rights were very clear that armament was for everybody.

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of people always possess arms." - Richard Henry Lee.

Similarly, it was evident that gun control works against the oppressed and in favor of the oppressor.

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants." - Thomas Jefferson.

We are Texalorians... Weapons are our religion.... This is the way, y'all... Show your Texalorian Pride with this kick ass shirt!

Another unhinged professor Katie Scofield says the antifederalists wanted to form their militias because they were afraid of the government stopping them from putting down slave rebellions.

"At the time, Southern slaveholders worried that since the federal government was given power over the militias, Congress could eventually block southern states from using their militias to put down slave rebellions," Prof Scofield says.

The purpose of militias in the Second Amendment is very clear. It was to ensure a group of people remained capable of confronting a tyrannical government but not to harass helpless slaves.

"A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." – The Second Amendment declaration.

This point has been reiterated consistently by the earliest supporters of the second amendment rights. They were against the government having monopoly power.

"As the military . . . might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the [Second Amendment] in their right to keep and bear their private arms."- Tench Coxe.

To make things even clearer, the Second Amendment was not passed against slaves. On the contrary, the slaves were denied their Second Amendment rights. Even many years after slavery, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. applied for a concealed carry permit before his assassination but was denied in 1956. However, the supporters of Dr. King guarded his house with guns, which was possible because of the Second Amendment.

The Democrats reinforce the racist gun control perception in the minds of minorities by convincing them that firearm ownership is bad for them. They continue to demonize firearm ownership such that Black Americans firearm owners feel compelled to remain secretive about owning firearms. Such secrecy raises suspicions, which only works against the community.

Because of this mental conditioning, firearm ownership has become like a taboo in the African American community. Let us not forget Democrats, such as Mike Bloomberg, specifically targeted African Americans in their gun control policies. If anybody deserves the blame for discrimination of minorities regarding the Second Amendment, it would be the Democrats.

Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
