MQS to Release Bonnen Bribery Tape Next Week!

For the past few months, you have likely heard about the ongoing drama between Empower Texans President, Michael Quinn Sullivan, and Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen. The tape has been considered by the handful of people that have heard it, including State Rep. Jonathan Stickland, to be incredibly damning.

The Texas Rangers began an investigation into the bribery allegations raised by Sullivan, but as of recent weeks, that whole thing has seemed to fizzle into extinction. Well, today it was announced that Michael Quinn Sullivan will release the entire tape next week!

The tape was made available to lawmakers to hear, and Sullivan had hoped that he would not have to release it to the public. He had initially made the recording as a means of protecting himself, following the false accusations against Texas Gun Rights Executive Director, Chris McNutt, among other instances showing Bonnen to be a legitimate threat to his enemies.

Sullivan had said that there were "Certain statements by Speaker Bonnen [that] could cause harm or embarrassment to individuals and their families, while other statements he made could be used by Democrats to undermine the GOP," which is why he kept the tape from the public ear. Since the entire story has seemed to have gone away despite major allegations of corruption against Speaker Bonnen and his right hand, Rep. Dustin Burrows, it seems that Sullivan is left with little choice.

Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Patrick, and other senior elected officials on Bonnen's side have repeatedly called for Sullivan to release the tape. This is in spite of the fact that they have had access to the tape, but have refused to listen to it. Dan Patrick and MQS got into a gun control debate on Twitter (on Constitution Day of all days), during which Patrick said Sullivan was "destroying" the GOP.

Well, it appears that next week, the tape will be released, and all of the political elites in our State will have egg on their faces. Make no mistake about it, this tape will be a major embarrassment for Texas, but it is absolutely necessary that it is released.

As many of you know, LSGR is currently in a lawsuit with Speaker Bonnen. During this time, we are still committed to you and getting the truth out. Please sign our petition against gun control today, and become an LSGR member!
