Nancy Pelosi Reportedly Bypassed Security Screening, GOP Legislators Demand A $5,000 Fine

Totally expected for a Democrat to enact laws that do not apply to them because to the Left the rule of law is an abstract concept. Republicans in the House Administration Committee requested the Acting Sergeant-at-Arms Timothy Blodgett to impose a fine on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D - Calif.) after she reportedly bypassed the metal detectors she helped install.

House Democrats passed House Resolution 73 imposing a $5,000 fine on any legislator who bypassed the metal detectors for the first time and a $10,000 penalty for the second time.

The committee also ruled that the fines would be deducted directly from the lawmaker's paycheck. Two GOP Reps. Andrew Clyde (R - Georgia) and Louie Gohmert (R – Texas) were fined after allegedly bypassing the metal detectors - but not Pelosi.

The metal detectors were installed after Trump supporters descended on the Capitol protesting the rigged results. Ironically, there’s no relationship between the security measures targeting legislators and the pro-Trump protests.

However, the incident created an opportunity for anti-gunners to push the anti-2A agenda using the protests as an excuse. As usual, the Democrats would never allow a “crisis” to go to waste.

On Thursday, several legislators said they saw Speaker Pelosi failing to complete a security screening, thus violating House Resolution 73. Speculations also suggest that she was carrying a firearm.

“What was observed was a clear violation of House Resolution 73 and you are required by House Rules to impose this fine. Please inform us once the fine has been assessed,” the legislators demanded. “We look forward to a prompt response to this inquiry.”

However, Blodgett outrightly rejected the legislators’ request saying that he did not receive an incident report from the Capitol Police, according to The Hill. He added that a fine could not be imposed until the United States Capitol Police (USCP) filed an “unusual occurrence report.” He also claimed that only the Capitol Police could determine whether someone violated the laws.

This sounds like coverup and premature exoneration since no investigation was conducted to determine what actually happened. When a complaint is filed, the first response would be to investigate the subject instead of defending her.

It seems that Pelosi is held at different standards than the rest of the House. It’s not surprising that the same elitism is at display in the state Capitol where members of the public are prohibited from carrying firearms on grounds while the legislators are allowed.
