Protester, Also Convicted Felon, Charged After Pointing Firearm At Motorist in Louisville
A convicted felon pointed a gun at a motorist during Friday's Louisville protest. Robin Ash was captured by Louisville Metro Police helicopter, pointing a gun at a Ford Taurus driver. Ash will face wanton endangerment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and criminal mischief charges.
Protesters claimed that the driver was the first to point a gun at the demonstrators. However, the police video shows a car driving in the opposite direction when it comes to a stop, and protesters started approaching. The video captures a woman pulling a gun and pointing it at the motorist. Other protesters tried to get the crowd away from the car to deescalate the situation. An angry protester was also filmed kicking the stationary vehicle.
Another protester, who recorded the incident, claims that the motorist tried to run over the crowd. Sheri Wright's video showed the driver holding a firearm as protesters started gathering around his car. The footage also showed the vehicle driving closely past two people.
The man was also seen exiting the car and examining the damage sustained by his car while holding a firearm before the police arrived.
Wright accused the police of surrounding the car in a "protective fashion." She added that the officers were biased and preferred to protect people opposing the anti-police protests.
The police department released the full footage that disputed the claims made by the protesters. Sgt. Lamont Washington also denied the protester's allegations. He also indicated that the motorist was the victim and wouldn't face any charges.
Ironically, a leftist protester was having an illegal firearm and using it to intimidate a law-abiding citizen. Thankfully, the police were able to record the entire protest, denying the leftist an opportunity to cry foul.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is pushing universal background checks in our state, and if left unchecked, it will not be long until we see bills like this getting traction in Austin. Texas is embarrassingly ranked 29th for gun rights, and with the help of the political elites in Austin, we will surely rank among New York, California, and Illinois if left to their own devices. Please join our fight today, and help us restore Texas' place as the standard for the U.S.
