Gun controllers never run out of crazy ideas to market gun control, with each notion being farcical than the last. During his appearance on MSNBC’s “All In” show, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) falsely claimed that failure to pass gun control signaled to the mass shooters that it was okay.
“we’re also a country that sends an unintended but meaningful message to mass shooters of endorsements. I mean, when Congress doesn’t do anything year after year, decade after decade in the wake of mass shooting after mass shootings, these minds that are starting to become unhinged imply that it’s okay.”
Ironically, nothing attracts mass shooters more than gun-free zones where citizens have no means of defending themselves. According to a study by the Crime Prevention Center, 94% of mass public shootings since 1950 occurred in ‘gun-free zones. Only 3.8% of the shootings took place where guns were allowed.
Contrarily, Bloomberg’s Everytown For Gun Safety falsely claimed that only 10% of mass shootings occurred in gun-free. However, Everytown included every shooting incident leading to more than two deaths, including gang shootouts, which do not qualify as mass shootings, according to the FBI 2014 study.
The group also uses the presence of an officer to disqualify an area as a gun-free zone. Regardless of what anti-gunners say, an area is a gun-free zone if it prohibits the public from carrying a firearm. Additionally, a mass shooting incident only qualifies as such if it intended to kill innocent civilians indiscriminately.
It beats logic that an assailant would target establishments where his or her aggression would be challenged and possibly ended within seconds. We have witnessed incidents where shooters were stopped in seconds because someone else had a gun.
Perhaps the best example of the aftermath of gun control is the crime statistics in Democrat-run cities occupying 18 positions out of the 20 most unsafe cities to live in America.
